Your day at a glance

  • Morning: coffee near Piazza Chanoux, then the old town and a food shop.
  • Lunch: choose a local dish such as fonduta or polenta concia, according to the menu.
  • Afternoon: Porta Praetoria and the Sant’Orso quarter, with an optional monument visit.
  • Later: a pastry stop or an aperitivo before an unhurried dinner.

Four ways into the city

What to taste first

Try Fontina DOP on its own before ordering a dish built around it. Leave room for a few tegole: these thin nut biscuits make a very different finish to a rich cheese lunch.

Keep the day simple

Treat indoor visits as optional and check access before buying tickets. On market days, add Piazza Cavalieri di Vittorio Veneto as a short detour; on other days, choose a food shop instead.
